"K".
18th June 1910.
Hon. Ir. W. Chatham, C.I.G.
Dear Sir,
doubtless
As you are aware that I am exceedingly hard pressed
for funds to pay my men. I still hope that it will be possible
for you to entertain my application for the grant of $5,000
as promised in Kr. Fisher's letter of the 18th April 1910. I
would like to point out that the payment of $2,700 this month
was quite inadequate to meet my requirements as I have at
present over 250 workmen at the Law Courts building. The work
is being pushed forward rapidly and unless I have got sufficient
money to settle my mens wages and other incidental expenses in
connection with same I am afraid the former will stop work. It
is almost impossible for me to continue treating my men in such
dilatory method as heretofore and I trust you will make the
payment it will certainly retard the work considerably if I do
not have inmediate funds. I am doing my best endeavour to
accelerate the work and rely on you to do the best you possibly
can for me for which I beg to thank you in advance for the
favour.
7. Fisher,
Youre faithfully,
(sd.) Chan A Tong.
Do you think that the $5,000can now be paid? How
is the inner dome progressing ?
(sd.) w. c. 17.8.10.
Hon. D.P.V.
Only 14 logs of timber have been delivered. At a
recent interview with Chan A Tong he promised to supply 34
additional logs by the 1st instant
With reference to inner dome, carpenters are now
fixing the casing for concrete,
ment.
As arranged, a sum of $2,500 has been passed for pay-
